XIU XAN

PI
Age 19 — Pi is the devoted mother of Xiu Xan, a woman whose life is torn between love, loss, and destiny. Burdened with the care of her physically challenged son, she finds herself unwillingly bound to a prophecy that will shape their world. When her husband, Shen, dies in a mysterious and supernatural act during an intimate moment, Pi’s life spirals into confusion and grief. The trauma leaves deep scars—both mental and physical—but her resolve to protect her fragile child never wavers. Fiercely maternal and quietly defiant, Pi would sacrifice everything—even the balance of fate itself—to shield Xiu Xan from harm.
SHEN
Age 25 — Shen, Pi’s husband is celebrated as one of the fiercest warriors in his village—a man whose strength is born not of cruelty, but of devotion. KUBLAI
Age: 11 — Born into royalty, he carries the weight of privilege and cruelty in equal measure. Shaped and hardened by an abusive father, his childhood has been marked by fear, manipulation, and relentless pressure to succeed. Sharp, ambitious, and increasingly ruthless, he rises quickly through the ranks to command his father’s army, leaving a trail of power and intimidation in his wake. Behind his calculated exterior, there is a fracture—a boy still searching for approval, love, and freedom from the shadow of his father. The most gifted—and most tormented—of his kind, he was imprisoned and tortured for defying his clan’s ambitions. Now, centuries later, he lives in quiet penance.
